About This Dog for Adoption

Chase's ideal home

Chase can live with children over the age of 10 but not other dogs as we don't feel he is confident enough at present, although he does enjoy their company. He is house trained and can be left alone for a few hours without worry.

Could you be Chase's perfect match?

Chase is a curious little chap and although he's feeling a little overwhelmed by his change in circumstances, we can see his personality poking through. He's a playful boy who likes to explore but also enjoys his own space, and he is happiest when allowed to approach people first, rather than the other way around. Once he knows you, Chase is happy to be handled all over but we do give him lots of praise when putting on his lead and harness. When it comes to other dogs, Chase can be a little unsure about them but if they aren't too bothered about interacting with him he's much more comfortable around them. Social skills and confidence will come in time and some well mannered walking friends would be nice for him when he's settled at home and feeling bold. One thing that has been very clear about Chase is his love of toys! He will bring a toy to you and initiate play if he knows you, and he just loves to fetch a ball or play tug.

Yorkie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Yorkshire Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Yorkie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
