About This Dog for Adoption

Celt's ideal home

Celt can live with other dogs, ideally female, and children over the age of 14. He isn't house trained and will require all his basic training. Celt has potential to become very attached to one person and can be easily overwhelmed.

Could you be Celt's perfect match?

Celt came from a very busy multi-dog household but as is often the case, he is very nervous and wary of new people. He's not used to wearing a collar and lead and is unsure about us touching around his neck, but pairing it with food is helping him see it as a positive thing. Celt can be worried when out and about and does look to his handler a lot for reassurance. He is gaining confidence each day but will need his adopters to allow him time and give him lots of encouragement. Celt gets upset when his handlers leave his kennel, so his new family will need to make sure someone is with him all the time initially, but can working gradually up to giving him some solo time. He is currently kenneled with some of the dogs he was previously living with and seems to prefer females to males. He has walked nicely with other girls but he has a lot to learn about doggy etiquette. Celt's favourite thing is food! He eats well and just love his treats, and this is a great way to build a bond with him and begin his training. He also enjoys chasing after toys but is still unsure what to do once he catches up with them.

Yorkie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Yorkshire Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Yorkie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
