Polly's ideal home

Polly is an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier with a sweet, affectionate nature and a zest for life. A true lapdog, she loves close contact with her people and would happily spend her days snuggled beside you or pottering in the garden. Polly is looking for a calm, loving home with a secure, private garden (minimum 4ft fencing) where she can enjoy regular walks, outdoor playtime, and plenty of attention from her humans.

She’s content being left alone for a few hours and settles herself happily in the kitchen or on the sofa while you're out. Polly could live with a calm, polite dog of a similar size following successful introductions, but would find boisterous or large dogs a bit overwhelming. She would also be happy to welcome respectful visiting children aged 10 and above. She would prefer a cat-free home.

Polly is a relaxed, social girl who settles beautifully in the home and thrives on human companionship. She’s confident with visitors, loves a good walk, and is just as happy curling up for a cosy nap afterwards. While she may be older in years, she’s still active, spritely, and enjoys running about with her favourite toys or chew bones. She’s clean in the home, sleeps soundly through the night, and enjoys a gentle play of fetch or tug of war when the mood strikes.

Polly walks very well on the lead with a loose, comfortable pace and is generally confident in a variety of environments, including around traffic, schools, and even the beach. She’s polite around other dogs and has met both large and small breeds calmly, though she prefers companions who are gentle and well-mannered. While she hasn’t lived with children, she’s shown a kind and tolerant nature when meeting them out and about.

Polly is easy to handle, enjoys being brushed, and is happy to be picked up when needed—making her a great match for first-time owners or anyone looking for a loving, low-maintenance companion. She does have some age-related health needs but she remains full of life, joy, and character. These needs will be fully discussed with successful applicants.
