About This Dog

Alf's ideal home

Alf is an 11-year-old Chihuahua X looking for a quiet, loving home where he can enjoy his retirement. He's a nervous, timid boy who takes a little time to get to know new people, but once he trusts you, he's the perfect lap dog. He loves being around people, enjoys a cuddle, and just wants to be close to you. Alf is good with other dogs and could live with another quiet dog in the home and sensible secondary school-aged children, but he'd be happiest in a calm, quiet home where he can just curl up on the sofa and go for little calm potters. Walks can be a bit worrying for Alf, so he'll need someone who's happy to take things slowly and help build his confidence with gentle walks in quieter areas. Seeing dogs out and about Alf does find really scary, he does panic and will jump up for reassurance, however he is gaining more confidence out and about since being in foster, but it is slow progress so he needs patient and understanding owners.

Could you be Alf's perfect match?

Alf can find being left on his own difficult, so he'll need a home where someone is around for most of the day. Any time spent alone will need to be introduced gradually as he settles into his new home and when he’s comfortable. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate boy and don't mind earning his trust, Alf will be a perfect companion.
