About This Dog

Toby's ideal home

Sweet little chap Toby is a 10 and a half year old Yorkshire Terrier cross who sometimes finds the world a little overwhelming. Once he knows you he loves nothing more than a cuddle and will happily snuggle down on your lap for a fuss and a snooze. Toby does like a gentle stroll, he can be worried by sudden loud noises, though so does need his adopters to understand a give him encouragement and confidence when out. When he needs some time to himself he will take himself off to his crate and have a nap. This top gent is ready to find his new home.

Could you be Toby's perfect match?

Toby is looking for a calm and quiet home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He can be worried by meeting new people and lots of handling so is looking for an adult only home with adopters who can be calm around him, who can play with him nicely and will give him space to rest and relax when needed. Toby could live with another calm and friendly dog who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, a dog that will teach him the ropes and help him build his confidence, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre. Living with a dog is not a necessity, he would be happy with have polite and friendly walking buddies. Toby has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely sit and is fully crate trained, he likes his crate as his safe space to rest and relax in, he can be enticed to engage in training in short sweet sessions if a tasty treat is on offer, he is currently doing muzzle training as he does need to wear a muzzle at the vets. He would like a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about in at his leisure, but this is not a necessity. Toby can be worried being left so is looking for someone home the majority of the time, especially to begin with, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Toby is on daily medication and will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
