About This Dog for Adoption

Silas's ideal home

Silas is on the search for his forever home with adopters who can give him the time to build his confidence in the home. He can be worried when being left and therefore will need adopters who can be round for most of the day initially. He would like to get stuck into training, including basics like house training and management around toys (as he has shown some previous guarding behaviours). Silas is happy to have walking friends but would like to be the only dog in the home. He can live with a cat (pending a scent swap),small furries and other animals. Silas can live with teenagers in his home who can respect his boundaries.

Could you be Silas's perfect match?

Silas loves attention and quality time with his favourite carers. His best days are when he can adventure and explore new places, with lots of fuss from his handlers in-between. Silas enjoys playing with balls but needs adopters who will continue to ‘swap and drop’ with another ball to hand to continue playing fetch. Silas knows how to sit and give a paw but needs some more training with retaining attention to his name. He is a wonderful boy who has so much love to give and is sure to bring lots of joy to his forever family.

Yorkie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Yorkshire Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Yorkie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
